This year’s Nottingham Poetry Festival is a supersized 10 days of blistering performances, open mics, workshops, panels and community events that will see people unite together across the city (7 June to 16 June 2024). Great Central Railway to be Unified for the First Time in Fifty Years at 125th Anniversary Weekend (16-17 March)

Originally opened to passenger traffic in 1899, the Great Central Railway later became part of the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923, then part of British Rail in 1948. Closed in stages, the last trains ran in 1969.
