A Whisker-Filled Winter: Mog Pads Into Victoria Centre for a Purrfectly Festive Season

Step Inside a Cosy Christmas Adventure With the UK’s Only Mog Christmas Trail
 |  Made  |  Events

Victoria Centre is embracing full festive feline energy this year as Mog, the beloved star of Judith Kerr’s classic tales, tumbles into town for a Christmas packed with charm, nostalgia, and just the right amount of mischief.

From 1 December to 5 January, families are invited to wander through Mog’s Christmas Trail – a free, joy-sparking experience exclusive to Victoria Centre and designed for curious little explorers and sentimental grown-ups alike.

Pick up your complimentary trail map from the Parliament Street entrance (right by Urban Outfitters) and step straight into Mog’s world as she watches the Thomas family prepare for Christmas. Along your journey, you’ll uncover whimsical handmade installations, interactive storytelling moments, and must-snap photo spots straight from the pages of Mog’s Christmas.

A special treat for fans: Judith Kerr’s daughter lends her voice to a bespoke audio narration created just for this event. Follow the trail, collect every stamp, and unravel a secret festive word to enter the Christmas prize draw – with Mog merchandise and seasonal surprises waiting to be won.

Storytime Magic & Cosy Screenings

From 19 December, Mog’s much-loved story springs to life with free live storytelling sessions at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm in South Square (next to Boots, Next and John Lewis). No booking needed – simply wander over and settle in.

Families can also catch Mog’s Christmas on the big screen throughout the day, perfect for a pre-shopping breather or a post-shopping wind-down.

Festive Extras to Make the Season Shine

Victoria Centre is serving up a full sleigh-load of Christmas delights alongside the Mog Trail:

  • Gift Wrap Station – Beautiful wrapping done for you, with donations supporting Nottinghamshire Hospice and Nottingham West Lions (13–24 December).
  • Giving Box – Donate a toy and help Cash for Kids share joy with local children this season.
  • Christmas Choirs – Local choirs will fill the centre with feel-good festive harmonies all month long.

Nigel Wheatley, Centre Director, says:
“We’re delighted to bring another exciting experience for families to enjoy this Christmas! Mog is a beloved character, and her story perfectly captures the warmth, humour and occasional chaos that comes with the festive season. Whether families are following the Mog trail, enjoying a live story-time session, or getting their gifts beautifully wrapped for a good cause, we can’t wait to make this Christmas truly special for everyone who visits.”

Shop, Snack & Soak Up the Festive Glow

After helping Mog find her Christmas spirit, visitors can dive into some well-deserved retail therapy. Victoria Centre is brimming with glittering gift ideas and festive offers from stores including John Lewis, JD Sports, MINISO, Office, Pandora, Swarovski, Rituals, Whittard and more.

Need to recharge? Choose from delicious dining spots such as Tortilla, Japami, Thai Express, Starbucks and Birds – ideal for warming up between shopping bags.
