Get the band back together!

Something fresh, bold and seriously fun is coming to Nottingham this summer.

On 6 June at the Squire Performing Arts Centre, local music charity, Music for Everyone, will be holding its first What’s Next Wind Band – a brand-new ensemble bringing together musicians aged 18–35 for a one-day musical experience like no other.

Do you miss the buzz of rehearsals, the laughter in the break, or the feeling of playing in a band with friends?  Then this is your chance to bring it all back.  Designed for wind, brass and percussion players, the day is all about reigniting that shared energy – whether you haven’t played in years or never quite wanted to stop.

Alongside an uplifting mix of music – from film and game soundtracks to classic wind band favourites – there is a strong focus on people. This is a space to meet like-minded musicians, make new connections, and rebuild that sense of community you remember from your banding days.

And it doesn’t stop when the music does. With pizza provided during the day and a relaxed trip to the pub afterwards, there’s plenty of time to socialise, laugh and make lasting friendships.

So, dust off your instrument, message your old bandmates, and come and see what’s next.
