The Harley Studios are creative spaces within the grounds of Welbeck Estate. Provided by The Harley Foundation, these tranquil, private studios are home to a community of designers, artists, makers and conservators. Many of the studios also run workshops where you can learn new skills, from textiles to ceramics.
Fondly known as Beth Shalom (the House of Peace), the National Holocaust Centre and Museum can be found in the sleepy village of Laxton in the heart of Nottinghamshire. A new exhibition at The Harley Gallery, Nottinghamshire reveals the life of the elusive 5th Duke of Portland who owned the historic Welbeck estate during the Victorian era. The 5th Duke was an unusual figure in high society, and many myths and legends have grown around his memory.
The open art competition received over 750 entries, with two rounds of judging needed to whittle the artworks down to the final 125 which are on show until 23 October.
Artempo was originally launched in 2011 by a select group of Retford artists looking to nurture their passion for creativity. It became apparent that an intimate group would be beneficial in creating a platform ideal for problem solving, collaboration and innovation in their various fields. A group of artists that could inspire and encourage, advise and support, with regular meetings and organised exhibitions.
