Middlebeck has recently announced sponsorship support for a local football team, Newark Brazil, thanks to the neighbourhood’s master developer Urban&Civic.

Newark Brazil is an inclusive football club, offering children from 4-18 years old the chance to have fun, develop their skills and socialise.

The team, based at Magnus Community Sports Centre, has over the years, supported children into professional football academies and offered young people admission to a low cost, fulfilling grassroots team.

This sponsorship announcement further endorses Urban&Civic’s commitment to support local communities, enabling them to thrive, invest and add value to the communities they operate in.

Kyle Smith, Communications, Communities and Partnerships said “We are extremely proud to be offering our support by sponsoring Newark’s local youth team, Newark Brazil.

“We are pleased to see young people access grass roots football in our communities and we continue to look for new and exciting ways to support local activities across a variety of themes; including sport, health, wellness, and creative arts.”

Martyn Cooper, U12's Coach at Newark Brazil said "I would like to say a huge thank you to Urban&Civic for sponsoring our U12’s team, their support has enabled us to provide new kits that will last us for the next two seasons.

“Our club ethos centres around maintaining low player and subscription fees to encourage participation, so no child is ever prevented from playing football due to financial reasons. Any small surplus we generate is directly fed back into the club to cover the cost of insurances and investment into replacement of dated equipment.

“We therefore look for local businesses to show financial support to our grassroots teams to provide each child with a free kit. With Urban&Civic’s generous support, we can now continue to teach children to play football and have fun with their peers – whilst looking like a professional at the same time!

“It really has made a difference, and I speak on behalf of all our children in our U12’s team when I say thank you. It really has been appreciated."

Urban&Civic will be continuing their support for grassroots football in the new year, through their support for Middlebeck’s own youth football team, more information to come in spring 2022.
