Despite the weather, the bikers bravely endured the wet conditions and set off from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on 7 July to complete a circular route through picturesque villages to Market Rasen, Lincolnshire and returning via Lincoln.
And even a knitted helicopter from LNAA’s Great Yarn Bomb Challenge joined in the fun, riding high on the helmet of one of the bikers.
Two Wheel Centre’s Sale Administrator, Sarah Charlton, said: “In our 10 years of supporting LNAA, we have raised over £23,000 and this year we are hoping to push that to the £30,000 milestone to mark 30 years of extraordinary service from this incredible team.
“You never know when, as a motorcyclist, green-laner, equestrian, hiker (and so many other outdoor pursuits too numerous mention) you might need the lifesaving assistance of the 'big yellow bird' so we feel our support over the years is the least we could do. We're proud of our ongoing support and plan to continue our fundraising mission into the future.”
In the first six months of 2024, LNAA has responded to 872 callouts, making this the busiest first half of the year since it began in 1994. It is thanks to the generosity and goodwill of supporters like Two Wheel Centre, that the crew can provide critical care to patients at scene, giving those with the most severe injuries and medical conditions the very best chance of survival when minutes matter.
LNAA Community Fundraiser, Jo Sanders summed up: “We really can’t thank The Two Wheel Centre enough for supporting LNAA with their ride out for the last 10 years. Seeing so many bikers come together this year, despite the awful weather, to raise funds and awareness, was incredibly humbling. Thank you for helping us to continue our life-saving work.”
