Nottinghamshire foodies are in for treat as the much talked about new Hickory’s Smokehouse opens three days ahead of schedule.
The Southern style smokehouse is opening its first east midlands venue on the site of the former Oldmoor Lodge in Nuthall. Famed for its authentic, Southern inspired BBQ food, inventive drinks list and cool, family friendly vibe the neighbourhood restaurant and bar is set to be a popular addition to the local dining scene.
Hickory’s Managing Director John Welsh said the team cannot wait to start welcoming guests:
‘We’ve been wanting to open a restaurant near Nottingham for many years and so we are delighted that this opportunity came up in Nuthall. It’s such a lovely area and we’ve had an overwhelming amount of support from the local community, so, as you can imagine, we can’t wait to open and and show you what we have done with the place.’
So, what can you expect?
The definition of a family friendly restaurant and neighbourhood bar, Hickory’s are known for their legendary welcome and super-authentic BBQ classics, and their commitment to creating a welcoming hub for the whole community goes way beyond the design of the building.
You’ll find a specially designed kids cinema room, cool ‘Fro-Co’ or Frozen Custard station and extensive wrap around gardens with tonnes of fabulous drinking and dining areas. Plus, a dedicated outside children’s play area that promises to keep the little ones entertained shows.
The extensive transformation also includes a super-relaxed bar area complete with booths, its own covered terrace area and big screens to catch all the latest sporting action from NFL and basketball to football, rugby and golf.
And if all that wasn’t enough, the food and drink are the real stars of the show here. The delicious menu is packed full of the flavours of the deep South with classic smokehouse dishes such as ribs, brisket and pulled pork all smoked low ‘n’ slow. There is something for everyone with a superb selection of signature steaks, burgers, fish dishes and a vegetarians have been catered for too.
The specially created kids menu has been specially created with a team of Mum’s, Dad’s and kids so it contains just the right balance of treats, healthy options and fun! And let’s not forget a huge variety of quirky desserts (don’t miss the Campfire Marshmallows for sheer entertainment value) and the most incredible cocktail and milkshake menu for miles.
With super-generous portion sizes, lip-smacking flavour combinations and more Southern classics than you can handle, our advice is, come hungry and get ready to fall in love with the authentic tastes of the southern states. Food is served from 11am until late every day and you can catch the brilliant brunch every 11am from 2pm.
