NORTH NOTTS BID has introduced touching, immersive audio-visual experiences in Worksop and Retford town centres to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms and our very way of life - before the region stands still to honour veterans as part of its Remembrance Sunday tributes on 14 November.

The stunning visual light displays, which have been created and implemented for the BID by Double Take Projections, will then turn festive and continue all the way through the Christmas period - finishing with a new year’s performance, through till 5 January. The event forms part of North Notts BID’s ambition to give town centres a boost by encouraging people to return to the high streets safely, to eat, drink and shop.
The new and exciting high-powered projection technology will be used to animate captivating shows onto Spencer’s on the Square and Worksop Town Hall. The light shows are available for viewing from 5-10pm.

Sally Gillborn, chief executive at North Notts BID, said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring these light shows to both Worksop and Retford town centres. The spectacle is a sight to behold that will initially honour our heroes and then hopefully give us all back that festive feel after last year's turbulent disruptions to the Christmas period.

“Following on from the successful town centre dressings that we introduced back in the spring, we hope that these light shows will continue the positive momentum and encourage people to visit our town centres and support our local businesses.”

The light shows will complement North Notts BID’s plan to deliver a mix of new and returning much-loved family events back to our towns including the Christmas markets and light switch-on events that will take place in Worksop Old Town Square from 12 noon to 6.30pm on Saturday 20 November, with Retford’s event taking place in the town square from 11am to 6pm on Sunday 21 November.
