Retford Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On, which looks like being the best ever, will be held on Sunday 21st November, from 10.00am to 6.00pm, in and around the Market Square in Retford.
At 7.30pm on Wednesday 3 November at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, the world-renowned Aurora Orchestra and its conductor Nicholas Collon will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 from memory and will also perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with star violinist Nicola Benedetti.

Following disappointment that the 2020 festival was unable to take place due to COVID restrictions, organisers have been working to ensure a 2021 festival date will go ahead. The festival has always been about uniting the community, friends and family in a fun, safe and secure environment.
The official national Mayflower 400 programme draws to a close this July in Plymouth, who have led the commemorations for the 2020 anniversary. Further events are planned in and around North Notts through the summer, culminating in Illuminate events this November marking the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims’ first Thanksgiving. Many of the events planned for the international Mayflower commemorations have been postponed from last year due to the pandemic.
