On Saturday 4 July, North Notts Food Fest returned to Worksop, bringing together families from across the district for a free day celebrating the very best of North Nottinghamshire's food and drink scene.

A tiny, critically endangered spider, once thought likely extinct in Britain, is set for a brighter future thanks to new government funding.

The festivities begin with the Films in the Forest weekend of outdoor cinema from Fri 24 – Sun 26 Jul with a selection of movies which includes Wicked, How To Train Your Dragon, Labyrinth, Pirates of the Caribbean – The Curse of the Black Pearl, Disney’s Robin Hood and the blockbuster film of the legend, Robin Hood – Prince of Thieves. Worksop College has just celebrated an extraordinary milestone – 130 years since its foundation in 1895. As one of North Nottinghamshire’s most recognisable institutions, the College has long stood as a cornerstone of the local community, education, and regional enterprise.

West Nottinghamshire College has launched a new work placement initiative with the historic Welbeck Estate, with the first two travel and tourism students beginning their hands-on experience at Cuckney House, the estate’s Grade II listed Georgian manor.

Clumber Park is turning up the holiday magic with its most enchanting Christmas Glasshouse display yet. This year, the historic walled kitchen garden has been transformed into a shimmering festive haven, crafted by the park’s dedicated Gardens team under the guidance of Senior Gardener Dale Iles.

Ashfield District Council purchased the premises at 1-5 Outram Street earlier this year using money from their £62.6m Towns Deal and have leased it to the college.

Every year the WSA choose a worthwhile charity to support by raising funds to make donations. This year we chose Bassetlaw Hospice in Retford and two of its representatives who are responsible for fundraising accepted our invitation to open our exhibition. Debbie Rawlings and Bonney Baggaley each gave an insight into the excellent service the hospice provides for patients, family and carers and their dependence on fundraising by supporting organisations and the generosity of the public in general.  They revealed the news that they would shortly no longer receive funding from the NHS and…
