Step Inside Clumber Park’s Enchanting Christmas Glasshouse
Clumber Park is turning up the holiday magic with its most enchanting Christmas Glasshouse display yet. This year, the historic walled kitchen garden has been transformed into a shimmering festive haven, crafted by the park’s dedicated Gardens team under the guidance of Senior Gardener Dale Iles.
Visitors are in for a treat as the Glasshouse showcases a dazzling mix of creativity, craftsmanship, and natural beauty. This year’s installation features more handmade and homegrown delights than ever before. Wander among Christmas trees adorned with hand-knitted stockings, cosy mini jumpers, delicate book-art baubles, and dried flowers harvested straight from the garden.
The whimsical scene is enhanced by a handcrafted wooden Wendy house and charming wooden trees, lovingly created by volunteers, alongside vibrant Christmas bulbs grown on site. Fresh foliage garlands hang overhead, casting a warm glow across the space. At the centre, a giant Elf from the park’s The Elf on the Shelf® Sculpture Trail
adds a playful touch without stealing the spotlight from the intricate details that make this display so special.
“Every element reflects months of planning, growing, crafting, and care,” says Dale. “The display is inspired by nature — homegrown, handmade, and brought to life by the creativity of our team. It’s our most ambitious yet.”
The Gardens team, comprising nine staff members and 94 volunteers, has been delighting visitors with seasonal displays for five years, but this year’s Christmas showcase marks a bold new level of ambition and collaboration.
As the weeks progress, more Christmas bulbs, including Narcissus, Hyacinths, and Amaryllis, will bloom, filling the Glasshouse with colour and scent. Visitors can experience the festive magic throughout the season, up until Sunday, 4th January.
