Nottingham’s New Art Exchange (NAE) is the first cultural institution in the world to adopt a permanent citizen assembly to lead the organisation – with transformational results it is now championing nationally and internationally.
The event began with a remembrance service playing The Last Post, followed by Jan Goold, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, purchasing the first poppy to officially open the stall.
Long-time supporters Sharon Watson, Ken Childs and Martin Goodman were also in attendance.

Over the past year, she’s supported local charities like John Eastwood Hospice and Footprints, joined charity football matches and donated Easter Eggs to children in need. She has also raised £600 for Cancer Research UK through the Race for Life. Recently crowned Miss Nottinghamshire Great Britain, Laura’s ongoing kindness and commitment to fundraising have made her a true local inspiration.
Having received £124, 982 from the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Nottingham Accelerator project is delivered by East Midlands Chamber on behalf of Nottingham City Council. Running until 31 March 2026, the project aims to help firms reach sustainability goals, grow and innovate with emphasis on digital and decarbonisation.
