Roger boasts an impressive 33 years of service within the NHS and various other healthcare organisations. His career began in the ambulance service, followed by two decades with the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. At EMICS, Roger focuses on volunteer recruitment, enhancing the deployment of the Fast Response Vehicle (FRV) and providing operational support to the dedicated team of volunteers.

As Roger takes on this fun and challenging 5K fundraising event, he seeks to raise crucial funds to keep EMICS operational and responsive to emergencies.

“We rely on your support to keep us on the road," Roger emphasises. "Every contribution helps ensure we can continue to provide essential care when and wherever it is needed most.”

EMICS is a charitable organisation that attends emergencies just like the air ambulance but arriving by road. The team responds to emergency calls in support of the ambulance service (EMAS) across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, and Northamptonshire. EMICS Medics deliver advanced medical treatments that might otherwise be unavailable to patients in need, thanks to a highly equipped Fast Response Vehicle (FRV) and advanced medical equipment. EMICS dedicated volunteer crews are on standby 24/7, providing essential care when it matters most.

Please support Roger and EMICS by donating to this vital cause today. Your contributions will allow EMICS to deploy the Fast Response Vehicle more frequently, purchase and maintain essential medical equipment.

Donations can be made through the EMICS website ( or via JustGiving (
